THE COMMISSIONED PORTRAIT PROCESS

Your order will be subject(s) or theme of an oil painting painted by me, Peter Dardai, and the resulting artwork will be my interpretation of the subject(s) or theme based on the photograph and instructions provided by you. After you place your order, I will get back to you with a price quote which will include an estimated completion time for delivery. At the end of the painting process, I will send you some detailed photographs taken from the final painting. At that point, if you are still not happy with the state of the painting and would like me to make some changes then I would be pleased to do so. It can only be asked in writing to avoid any confusion.

PAYMENT

The deposit

A non-refundable 20% deposit is needed to commission a portrait painting. Upon receiving the deposit payment you will enter into an agreement with me for the provision of an artwork.

Final payment

On completion of the painting, you will be sent an invoice for the remaining balance by e-mail. On receipt of final payment, I will make arrangements for the delivery of your artwork. Shipping fees are calculated on the basis of the weight of the canvas being despatched.

Payment methods

You can pay online through PayPal. PayPal accepts all major credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

REFUND/RETURN POLICY

Unfortunately, since I provide custom ordered paintings that are specifically commissioned for my customers, I am unable to offer returns unless the artwork has been damaged through the delivery process. If you find the artwork damaged upon delivery, I will need you to notify the delivery person at your end, so that they can process the complaint. Please make sure that you open and look at the condition of the painting upon delivery. Do not sign the delivery note if you find that the painting is damaged. I accept returns due to damaged canvases only. They must be logged by the courier company at the time of delivery. On receipt of the returned painting, I will re-create the artwork on a new canvas.

SHIPPING

Once your painting has been completed, a final photo of the painting will be sent to you by email and in addition, a shipping tracking number to track the shipping progress. Shipping costs may vary determined by the size of the canvas and the delivery address you provide. This cost will be made clear through the ordering process before you make any payment. I employ DHL or UPS courier companies to get the paintings delivered. They provided me with excellent services through the years with a very good track record. They will require for someone to be at home to sign the delivery note and to collect the artwork. Before you sign it you will need to open the parcel and check if the painting is in good condition. I cannot refund paintings with damage caused by the delivery firm that has not been logged by them at the point of delivery.

I do not take responsibility for the breach of copyright of copyrighted photographs.  Please note. I do not accept orders for pornographic, religious and military themes.
